This Saturday's Final Four March Madness round, marks a changing of the guard, as none of the four teams are number one or two seeds, which is a first for the tournament. In fact, the one returning team from last season's Final Four, the Butler Bulldogs, are ranked lower than they were in last season's tournament! Looking at all four teams and you will see that the Butler Bulldogs and VCU Rams, at least on paper, have no business in theory being in the Final Four. Between the two schools they have a combined three appearances in the Final Four with one finals appearance. Conversely, the Kentucky Wildcats and Connecticut Huskies are two of the most storied programs in the NCAA and have more than enough experience in big games. In our opinion, we would like to see the VCU Rams Cinderella story continue on to the National Title game, while the Connecticut Huskies save the Big East, by winning the entire tournament. Recall at the start of the tournament, the Big East Conference became the first conference to have 11 teams qualify for March Madness. However, by the Sweet 16, Connecticut was the only remaining Big East team. |
