In August, fans and handicappers alike had the Philadelphia Eagles winning the NFL Super Bowl, after Head Coach and General Manager Andy Reid built a super team on paper. Five weeks into the season, it appears as though fans that took the Eagles put all their money in the barrel before counting it, as the Eagles are an underwhelming one and four. Today, we will be using bookie software to look at the updated Super Bowl odds.
Heading into the season, the Philadelphia Eagles were a six to one favorite to win the Super Bowl. Now, heading into week six, the birds are 33 to one dogs to win the Super Bowl. Consider, that the Eagles have pretty much been in all five games they have played this season. However, their inability to hang onto a lead has been the team’s Achilles heel. Meaning to say, if they can figure out how to hold a lead, the Eagles have the star power on paper to mount a come back and sneak into the sports betting playoffs with a Wild Card entrance.
If you do not believe on banking on a team that has been underwhelming at best this season, consider taking either the Green Bay Packers or New England Patriots. The defending Super Bowl Champion Packers, have won all five games heading into week six this weekend. Yet, at +275 favorites, are the Packers getting lucky, or for real? Over the last two weeks, the injuries have begun to mount up for America’s favorite franchise; will they play a factor down the stretch?
On the other hand, the NFL version of the Evil Empire, the New England Patriots, has been impressive to say the least this season. At +300 odds, Tom Brady and the Patriots offense appears to be just hitting there stride now, and should provide good value for a Super Bowl win.

In just under a week, sports betting online fans will be glued to their television sets as the NBA playoffs will commence. This year's NBA sports betting playoffs are wide open, as any of the potential 16 teams set to qualify, can win the tournament. Here is our prediction for which teams will be left standing in June to battle it out for the NBA title.
This season's NBA final will see the new look Chicago Bulls led by Derrick Rose and Carlos Boozer, battle fourth consecutive year finalists the Los Angeles Lakers led by Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol. In our minds, this series will signal a changing of the guard, as the youthful Bulls should be able to defeat the veteran Lakers in six games to win the franchise's first title since 1998.
The NBA playoffs tournament is literally a way to allow the experts to determine which player is the all around best in the league. During the regular season, many people have said that they believe that the best player on the best team deserves the MVP award. However, is that the best player on the NBA Championship team or best player on the regular season top team?
On the one hand, we feel that the regular season is just a warm up for the playoffs, yet on the other hand, we feel the playoffs can be misleading. For the latter belief, you don't have to necessarily be the best team to win the NBA Championship, just have the best player.
Meaning to say, if it comes down to the Chicago Bulls v the LA Lakers, we will see the best player of the regular season Derrick Rose taking on the best player the NBA has ever offered, Kobe Bryant. In theory, the Bulls youth has allowed them to be one of the best teams during the regular season. However, playing the Lakers during the regular season and in the playoffs are two totally different things. We still think the Bulls will win, but it will be much harder than maybe it was during the regular season. |

The 2011 March Madness betting tournament is entering its final stretch, as the Final Four teams in the tournament have been determined. While most fans betting on March Madness couldn't have predicted that these four teams would make up the Final Four, we can't help but feel a little bit cheated as to how the two semi finals will shape up. In the first semi final, you have a battle of the long shots, as Butler takes on VCU. Conversely, in the other semi final, you have heavyweights Kentucky taking on UConn. In an ideal world, we would have rather seen the heavyweights take on the long shots in the semi finals and seen the two best teams truly come out of the games. Today we look at the Final Four teams in the March Madness tournament.
This Saturday's Final Four March Madness round, marks a changing of the guard, as none of the four teams are number one or two seeds, which is a first for the tournament. In fact, the one returning team from last season's Final Four, the Butler Bulldogs, are ranked lower than they were in last season's tournament!
Looking at all four teams and you will see that the Butler Bulldogs and VCU Rams, at least on paper, have no business in theory being in the Final Four. Between the two schools they have a combined three appearances in the Final Four with one finals appearance. Conversely, the Kentucky Wildcats and Connecticut Huskies are two of the most storied programs in the NCAA and have more than enough experience in big games.
In our opinion, we would like to see the VCU Rams Cinderella story continue on to the National Title game, while the Connecticut Huskies save the Big East, by winning the entire tournament. Recall at the start of the tournament, the Big East Conference became the first conference to have 11 teams qualify for March Madness. However, by the Sweet 16, Connecticut was the only remaining Big East team. |

Super Bowl XLV betting lines have been receiving a ton of action these last few days, as the NFL has entered its final week of play. This season, was one of the most memorable football betting experiences we as handicappers have ever experienced. From shocking upsets to a dream Super Bowl final there is much to look back on. However, we don't look back, we move ahead, and here is a preview of the sports world's biggest game of the season.
For the second year in a row, the NFL brings us a game featuring a battled tested side full of experience and a team that hasn't made it to the finals in quite some time. Looking at the betting line and fans will see that the inexperienced Green Bay Packers similar to the inexperienced New Orleans Saints appear to be winning over the hearts of the public handicapping crowd. Meanwhile, similar to the Indianapolis Colts last season, everyone and their uncle want to see Pittsburgh fail to win the Super Bowl.
For the Steelers, historically, they have won more Super Bowl titles than any other franchise in the NFL. Their six Vince Lombardi Trophy wins are three greater than the Green Bay Packers, who have won three to date. However, in their history, the Packers will be looking for Championship title number 14 as they have won 13 combined between the NFL merger in 1970 and the years before.
This year, appeared to be the year of the quarterback, as several starting pivots threw for above or near 4,000 yards. One such quarterback is Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers. Although the Packers lost 15 starters after week three of the regular season, Rodgers still managed to emerge as one of the best quarterbacks in the game. What's more, throughout the playoffs, Rodgers has shown he can play under pressure, as he has been dominant in wins over Philadelphia, Atlanta and most recently Chicago. |

Over the last decade, tennis has become one of the most popular sports betting online niches. From brand name stars to relative unknowns, fans looking to place a sports bet on tennis matches are now able to do so at many sportsbooks. For the bettor that has never wagered on tennis before, here is a guide on how to do so.
There are several ways to bet on a tennis match. Bettors can choose from heads up, prop bets, and totals as ways to gamble on each match. Here is a look at each technique.
- Heads Up - Similar to the money line, the heads up tennis bet, simply requires bettors to take the player who they believe will win the match outright. However, also comparable to the money line, bettors have to risk more for the favorite and less for the underdog. Here is what a heads up betting line looks like.
Bob Smith +700
Rafael Nadal - 200
In this example, Bob Smith is the underdog, as represented by the plus sign beside the number 700. For fans taking Smith to win the match, they simply need to risk $100 to get back $700 since Smith has seven to one odds of winning the match. Meanwhile, Nadal is considered the favorite, as depicted by the minus sign in front of the 200. Since Nadal is a two to one favorite, bettors have to risk $200 to get back $100 when taking him to win the match outright.
- Props Betting - Tennis props betting has a couple of different styles. On the one hand, bettors can take the over or under on the amount of sets that will be played between the two featured players. Conversely, bettors can also use a point spread line to guess which bettor will win the most sets.
