The World Series is only two months away, and now is the time to line up and see who will be playing in the Championship Series and then, eventually, in the World Series. The betting public has seen enough of the 2011 season to know who the AL and NL favorites are. Boston Red Sox After a 2-12 start, the Red Sox have become the best team in the AL. The pitching rotation in Boston can be a little shaky at times, but the offense is unstoppable. The Red Sox have had streaks where they not only won games, but they scored double-digit run totals per game. Strong pitching and a powerful offense make this a World Series contender. Texas Rangers The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim are pushing, but the Rangers have been consistent all season long. Texas has lead the AL West almost from the very beginning of the season, and Texas will beat out the New York Yankees to be the team that plays Boston in the ALCS. Philadelphia Phillies This is the team that many baseball betting experts are picking to win the NLCS and World Series. Key elements of the Phillies’ pitching rotation such as Cliff Lee and Roy Oswalt are starting to pick up their game. The Phillies have weaknesses, but they won’t be exploited by any team in the NL. Milwaukee Brewers Another team that is hot at the right time is the Milwaukee Brewers. The Atlanta Braves are a young team that is the future of the NL. But this Milwaukee team is the team for now that can challenge the Phillies for the NL pennant.
