Pick Colts, Vikings for Super Bowl showdown

While looking over the Titans vs Colts betting odds for this weekend’s game, I got the urge to start thinking about my Super Bowl picks. Right now, it’s looking like it’ll be Indianapolis against Minnesota in Super Bowl XLIV in Miami in February.

AFC Pick: Indianapolis (+100)

The Colts are favored over New England, Cincinnati and San Diego, as well as Pittsburgh, in your online sportsbook as they are 11-0 heading into this weekend’s showdown with Tennessee. The Colts have shown they can blow teams out, as well as win the close games, and with Peyton Manning on the team, Indy is NEVER out of a game. The questions on the Colts come from a suspect running game, and injuries that have depleted their secondary, forcing them to go young.

NFC Pick: Minnesota (+110)

Unbeaten New Orleans are the online sportsbook favorites at -105, but I would go with the Vikings, who offer better value. Brett Favre is probably a favorite to win the MVP award due to the media’s obsession with him, but the 40-year-old may be playing the best football of his career. The Vikings also have the league’s best running back in Adrian Peterson, and their defense is more consistent than the Saints. Like the Colts, the Vikings have experienced some injuries in their secondary, but they’re starting to get healthy at just the right time for you to put them in your NFL picks.
