In August, fans and handicappers alike had the Philadelphia Eagles winning the NFL Super Bowl, after Head Coach and General Manager Andy Reid built a super team on paper. Five weeks into the season, it appears as though fans that took the Eagles put all their money in the barrel before counting it, as the Eagles are an underwhelming one and four. Today, we will be using bookie software to look at the updated Super Bowl odds.
Heading into the season, the Philadelphia Eagles were a six to one favorite to win the Super Bowl. Now, heading into week six, the birds are 33 to one dogs to win the Super Bowl. Consider, that the Eagles have pretty much been in all five games they have played this season. However, their inability to hang onto a lead has been the team’s Achilles heel. Meaning to say, if they can figure out how to hold a lead, the Eagles have the star power on paper to mount a come back and sneak into the sports betting playoffs with a Wild Card entrance.
If you do not believe on banking on a team that has been underwhelming at best this season, consider taking either the Green Bay Packers or New England Patriots. The defending Super Bowl Champion Packers, have won all five games heading into week six this weekend. Yet, at +275 favorites, are the Packers getting lucky, or for real? Over the last two weeks, the injuries have begun to mount up for America’s favorite franchise; will they play a factor down the stretch?
On the other hand, the NFL version of the Evil Empire, the New England Patriots, has been impressive to say the least this season. At +300 odds, Tom Brady and the Patriots offense appears to be just hitting there stride now, and should provide good value for a Super Bowl win.

In just under a week, sports betting online fans will be glued to their television sets as the NBA playoffs will commence. This year's NBA sports betting playoffs are wide open, as any of the potential 16 teams set to qualify, can win the tournament. Here is our prediction for which teams will be left standing in June to battle it out for the NBA title.
This season's NBA final will see the new look Chicago Bulls led by Derrick Rose and Carlos Boozer, battle fourth consecutive year finalists the Los Angeles Lakers led by Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol. In our minds, this series will signal a changing of the guard, as the youthful Bulls should be able to defeat the veteran Lakers in six games to win the franchise's first title since 1998.
The NBA playoffs tournament is literally a way to allow the experts to determine which player is the all around best in the league. During the regular season, many people have said that they believe that the best player on the best team deserves the MVP award. However, is that the best player on the NBA Championship team or best player on the regular season top team?
On the one hand, we feel that the regular season is just a warm up for the playoffs, yet on the other hand, we feel the playoffs can be misleading. For the latter belief, you don't have to necessarily be the best team to win the NBA Championship, just have the best player.
Meaning to say, if it comes down to the Chicago Bulls v the LA Lakers, we will see the best player of the regular season Derrick Rose taking on the best player the NBA has ever offered, Kobe Bryant. In theory, the Bulls youth has allowed them to be one of the best teams during the regular season. However, playing the Lakers during the regular season and in the playoffs are two totally different things. We still think the Bulls will win, but it will be much harder than maybe it was during the regular season. |

One of the newest forms of online sports betting over the past few years that has become very popular in only a short time is the future wager, which includes projecting how things will play out in a variety of different ways for a variety of different sports. Just like with any other type of bet there are advantages and disadvantages to playing future bets.
The biggest and certainly the most obvious advantage to playing a future bet is the large amounts of money that can be won in one hit. The future bet offers the player a chance to predict something that takes a lot longer and a lot more factors to be determined than a single event, and as a reward for the time and consideration of all of the factors the payout is bigger in the end. Another advantage is that with so many futures available, it is difficult for the pay head bookies to take in to account a lot of the little details that the hardcore fan knows about, and that gives the player the advantage in assessing the odds. If the player can handle the fact that money will be tied up over a long period of time, and that there are several factors that could come in to play over that time such as injuries, trades, or signings, then the future bet makes sense. But always be aware of these elements that can come in to play for future bets, whether it is the NFL or any other sport. |

In 72 hours, NHL betting enthusiasts will be either in Minnesota or glued to their television sets, as the 2011 NHL draft takes place in St. Paul. This year’s sports betting NHL draft is considered to be one of the deepest, but with no true franchise star in the mix. Here is a preview to get you prepared.
Adam Larsson D Edmonton Oilers – After stocking the cupboard of the next generation of forward stars, the Edmonton Oilers will now shift their attention to the defensive side of things. Enter Adam Larsson, the top Swedish prospect over the last two years. Scouts and analysts alike each agree that of the players in this year’s draft, the strong Swede is the most NHL ready. While 2010 number one pick Taylor Hall leads the Oilers forward core, Larsson will be a force on the back end for years to come.
Ryan Nugent – Hopkins F Colorado Avalanche – The Avalanche has an abundance of centers on their current roster. However, with rumors that Paul Stastny wants out of Colorado; look for the Avalanche to draft Ryan Nugent Hopkins to take Stastny place as the number two center in Colorado.
Gabriel Landeskog F Florida Panthers – After trading Nathan Horton to the Boston Bruins last offseason, the Florida Panthers clearly showed they missed the heart and soul that Horton had brought to the franchise for many years. Enter Gabriel Landeskog, the heart and soul Captain and winger for the Kitchener Rangers. Landeskog brings the skills and heart that Nathan Horton had when he was in Florida. With the Panthers rebuilding, Landeskog is a must have for their team to move forward.
Jonathan Huberdeau F New Jersey Devils – With rumors that the Devils may be unable to keep Zack Parise thanks to the albatross contract given to Ilya Kovalchuk last offseason, look for the Devils to pick Huberdeau with the fourth selection. A Bet Online scam? Not likely. Huberdeau has all the tools to be a skilled number one center for years to come. What better place to learn, than on a stacked franchise such as the New Jersey Devils.
